BODY OF EXPERIENCE THAT CROSSES NATIONAL BOUNDARIES
GORDON WELLS lives on the Isle of Benbecula in the Western Isles of Scotland.
A trained linguist, he combines his teaching skills with work on research and development projects in a wide range of educational and training contexts. Over the years he has built up a body of experience that crosses national and international boundaries.
At an international level he has worked across Europe, managing the Leonardo “POOLS” project. Gordon also co-ordinates his college’s continuing contribution to the scheme. The work won a European Award for Languages in 2007 and for Creativity and Innovation in Lifelong Learning in 2009. He also has strong contacts with India, building on his knowledge of Hindi and experience of working with the BBC to produce the “Hindi Urdu Bol Chaal” TV series.
He has significant domestic project management experience as well, as the instrumental figure in developing the Colaisde Bheinn na Faoghla FE and HE centre on Benbecula.
Gordon is married and has two children. His wife Catherine is a music instructor, music therapist, and arts education worker. Gordon also takes a keen interest in music and designs and makes his own flutes.
